Nikhil Joshi, M.D
Biography
Dr. Nikhil Joshi grew up in Michigan. He developed an interest in medicine at a young age. He entered into an accelerated medicine program after high school and received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He then moved to Texas and attended the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship. He received several honors and awards while he was there including Intern of the Year, Research Day Winner, and Exemplary care in the Clinic Award. He then completed an Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Scott & White in Temple, Texas. After his training, he moved to North Texas and started practicing in Sherman in 2008.
Dr. Joshi is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. He has additional certifications in Endovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology and is a Certified Device Specialist. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Society of Coronary Angiography & Intervention, & American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He has served as the Chief of Cardiology and the Director of the Cath lab at WNJ Regional Medical Center since 2011. Dr. Joshi has been awarded D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas and been recognized in Best of Texoma.
Dr. Joshi treats conditions such as coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, congestive heart failure, structural heart disease, atrial fibrillation, arrhythmia management, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Joshi focuses on early detection of heart disease & prevention. When Dr. Joshi is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, playing basketball, tennis and jogging.
